Welcome to the 2008 Yale Summer Riding Program! We're
looking forward to a great summer that will include a wide selection of
horses and plenty of individualized attention both in the riding ring
and out! All sessions will include lots of games and an end of session
horse show. This promises to be another fun-filled summer at the Yale
Polo and Equestrian Center. Hope to see you there!
INSTRUCTIONAL
STAFF
Anne
Gallant has taught riding at the Yale Polo and Equestrian Center
for over ten years, where she also runs a riding program for inner city youth.
She received her Masters in Education from the University of Connecticut,
where her field of concentration was therapeutic recreation. When International
Special Olympics took place in Connecticut, Anne served as Assistant
Director of their Equestrian Program.
Anne and her staff welcomes your children to the Yale barn for a fun, exciting, educational
and memorable experience.
Each
participant will be instructed in:
· Riding skills
· How to safely handle and care for horses
· Horsemastership
TENTATIVE
DAILY SCHEDULE

- 09:30 groom, clean and tack up
09:30 - 11:30 riding lessons
11:30 - 12:30 lunch
12:30 - 01:30 stable management
01:30 - 02:30 fun and games with the horses
**IMPORTANT
NOTE TO PARENTS**
The Camp staff respectfully asks for your cooperation
in picking up your camper(s) promptly at the end of the camp day. When
children are not picked up on time it places an unexpected burden on
the camp staff. Thank you for your help in this matter.

REQUIREMENTS
.
ASTM/SEI approved helmets must be worn by
all riders; helmets are provided, however, children are encouraged to
bring their own, if possible
· Riding boots or shoes with a heel must be
worn by all riders
· Long pants must be worn by all riders when
on horses (children may want to bring a change of clothes i.e. shorts
for when they are not riding)
· Participants must bring a bag lunch and refreshments. (soda machine
on premises)
· Medical forms required for all riders: make appointments
for physicals now!
REGISTRATION
INFORMATION
A
$50.00 non-refundable deposit must accompany your application and will
be deducted from the cost of the session(s). Applications are accepted
on a first-come, first-served basis. If the desired session is full
upon receipt of application, a full refund will be provided, or an alternate
session will be substituted if specified on the application. The
balance due for all sessions must be received in the Yale Polo and Equestrian
Center office on or before June 1, 2008.
Please
make checks payable to "Yale University" and mail to address
indicated on application.

A
10% discount is being offered to all applicants submitting payment in
full (in one lump sum) at time of registration, prior to June 1, 2006.
To take advantage of this discount, you must deduct 10% from the total
amount due when making payment at time of registration. This
discount does not apply to installment payments -- only lump sum payments
as indicated above.
REFUNDS,
ETC.
NO
REFUNDS will be issued after June 15, 2008, unless there is a medical
situation. All refund requests must be submitted in writing.
In the instance of a medical situation, the request must be accompanied
by documentation from a health care provider. All non-medical refund
requests will be assessed an administrative processing fee.
Please
note, a $20 fee will be assessed on all returned checks.
