2002-03: Hill, an aggressive big body, was bothered by a hernia throughout last season and withdrew from school at the start of the second semester in order to red shirt. He will rejoin the team for the second semester this season. His best game before the injury came against Sacred Heart when he scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds in 17 minutes.

2001-02: As a sophomore, Hill may have been the most improved player on the team. After averaging only eight minutes in 22 games as a freshman, Hill played in all 32 games in 2001-02 and averaged nearly 14 minutes. He was third on the team in blocks with 14. In the Ivy League playoff game with Penn, he led the team in scoring with 14 points. His top performance came against Brown when he scored 21 points on 7 of 9 shooting from the field. He also had eight rebounds in Yale's victory at Clemson.

2000-01: Hill was a consistent contributor off the bench as a rookie. His top performance came in the season finale against Brown. In 13 minutes he hit 5 of 7 shots from the field and scored a career-high 10 points. Against Penn State he grabbed six rebounds, and in the Columbia/Cornell weekend he combined for 10 points and five rebounds.

At the Sanford School: Hill was runner-up for the "Mr. Basketball" award in Delaware as a junior and senior. He averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds for Sanford, which went 24-1 and reached the semifinals of the state tournament. In his four years, Sanford went undefeated in conference play (32-0).

Personal: Josh, born Jan. 4, 1982, is the son of Kirt and Linda Hill. He has lived in five different states: Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Nevada and Delaware. At Yale he is a psychology major.
