After playing his first two seasons in the #3 slot, Jeff shared the #1 & #2 positions with Mike Caldwell this past year. He posted a perfect 3-0 record at #1 singles in the Ivy League including a dramatic win in the 3rd set tie-breaker of the deciding match against Dartmouth. He faced a match point returning at 5-6 then won 3 straight points to give the Bulldogs a 4-3 victory. Jeff finished the year ranked #19 in the Northeast Region, and received Honorable Mention All-Ivy Singles Honors. Jeff also had a solid year in doubles posting an overall record of 19-13. Additionally, Jeff was given the team's Stuart D. Ludlum Jr. '62 Memorial Award for outstanding team spirit.
Jeff played #3 singles sophomore and freshman years and compiled a winning record both seasons. As a sophomore Jeff was 17-15 and as a freshman he was 18-13. Jeff played #2 doubles as a sophomore, primarily with Josh Lederman, and had an 18-13 winning mark. Freshman year, he went 4-5 playing mostly in the #3 doubles position.
Before coming to Yale Jeff won the Illinois State High School Singles Championship in which he also won the Sportsmanship Award. In 2004 in finished with a top 50 national ranking in singles. He graduated 4th in his class at St. Francis High School.
